After 16 months of innovation, collaboration, and meticulous development, Ibexa DXP v5.0 LTS is here.
This is our first Long-Term Support release, maintained for a full three years, giving teams the peace of mind and stability they need to plan ahead.
When you work within the Ibexa DXP, you’re relying on more than 80 software components to deliver content, commerce, and experiences every day.
With v5.0 LTS, we’ve made sure to give them all a significant upgrade on performance that takes full advantage of the PHP and Symfony ecosystem.
Here's an overview of what Ibexa DXP v5.0 LTS means for you:
- Three years of guaranteed support within our first Long-Term Support release build on a predictable lifecycle.
- Better performance stability thanks to Symfony 7.3 with the latest framework improvements, performance gains, and components.
- Improved developer productivity by switching to PHP language version 8.3
- Type hinting throughout the codebase for clarity and early issue detection.
- Simpler integrations with OpenAPI-compatible REST APIs via API Platform, opening the door to a wider ecosystem of tools.
- Automatic project code upgrades suing the new Ibexa Rector package.
- Reusable, extendable templates without source file changes using twig Components
- TypeScript adoption as the primary frontend language going forward.
- Updated dependencies: CKEditor 45, React 19, Bootstrap 5.3.
- Security improvements, including mandatory password setup for the default user.
- Removal of the legacy “eZ” namespace, 250+ outdated code units, and other cleanup for better performance.
With 9 new packages and ~90 improvements, Ibexa DXP v5.0 LTS is both a milestone in our platform’s evolution and the strongest foundation we’ve ever built.
