Expert voices before DMEXCO 2026: webit!'s Sven Haubold on building the right tech foundation

Part 2 of our partner series ahead of DMEXCO 2026. Read part 1 with OMMAX here.

This September, Ibexa is heading to DMEXCO in Cologne, and we're bringing our partner network with us. This year, we're especially looking forward to the conversations around agentic marketing: how AI agents are starting to work directly within the marketing stack, and what that means for the teams running it.

To get a feel for how that shift looks from the front line, we asked our partners for their take. From building the foundation to thinking about the future of agentic marketing, this interview series takes us every step of the way.

In the second installment of this series, we spoke to Sven Haubold from webit! about what makes a modern DXP, where fragmented platforms start to slow teams down, and why webit! chose to build its partnership with Ibexa. Here's what he told us.

What makes a modern Digital Experience Platform for you?

"It should give marketing teams real support in their day-to-day work and reduce their workload. It should deliver a wide range of digital marketing capabilities out of the box, while staying technically open enough to fit flexibly into existing system landscapes."

Which platform capabilities matter most to you?

"Most importantly, the individual components should be well-connected, data should be usable across the board, and the interface should be intuitive for editors. Personally, I value the ability to reuse things that have already been built. If you can simply reuse an entire trade fair invitation process, from landing pages and emails to workflows, reminders and tracking, that gives you a real boost."

When do customers notice that their existing solution has reached its limits?

"Fragmentation is the enemy of speed. Customers usually notice they've hit the limit of a fragmented stack when the time needed to set up new things keeps growing, or when the effort spent adapting interfaces and upgrading individual components starts eating up a large part of the budget."

What do companies expect from their digital platform today that barely existed a few years ago?

"Data-driven marketing decisions are becoming increasingly important, and the marketing stack needs to provide that data and make it available across every component of the DXP."

"Digital sovereignty is also playing a growing role in customer conversations. Customers want to be sure they retain control over the data their own customers have entrusted to them. That's no longer just a data protection question, it's become a cultural shift."

Why did you choose to partner with Ibexa?

"Ibexa is a European DXP that focuses primarily on mid-market customers, which fits perfectly with the scope of our agency."

What do you value most about working with Ibexa?

"Personal contacts, direct lines of communication, straightforward and pragmatic decisions, and support whenever we need it."

A big thank you to Sven and the webit team for sharing your perspective.

With the foundation in place, the next question is organisational:

How should companies prepare internally before implementation even starts?

That's next, in Part 3 with Schöne Neue Kinder.
