Licensing & Purchasing FAQs

What is the fastest way to get started with Ibexa DXP?

We can set up an online demo for you to test out our solutions and we recommend booking a consultation with our sales team where they can help answer your initial questions to better understand the scope of your project, and introduce you to one of our integration partners.

For large projects, we can explore building proof of concepts together with our partners and with your team.

Using Ibexa Cloud can significantly accelerate the way your teams can be operational.

What’s the difference between choosing an on-premise deployment versus an Ibexa Cloud (PaaS) subscription?

By adding a hosting subscription for Ibexa Cloud to any of the software-only plans, Ibexa will provide, as a service, the underlying development, deployment, QA and production hosting infrastructure as well tooling for developers and IT teams. This way both the software and the infrastructure you require to host and manage it are provided by a single vendor, with one single contract.

This means IT or DevOps teams don't need to worry about purchasing, hosting and maintaining any backend infrastructure for the Ibexa DXP software installation themselves. Instead they can focus on managing and building better functionality for the software application itself. As a cloud infrastructure solution, your IT team retain full control in directly managing and developing Ibexa software application, but with the ability to scale in the cloud instantly.

Can we upgrade from a software-only license to hosting with Ibexa Cloud?

Yes, you can upgrade whenever you want. We’ll create a new annual agreement with the new hosting agreement included. If you’re already using Ibexa Cloud, you can also upgrade to a higher tier plan with additional hosting capacity whenever you need.

We’ve reached some of the limitations on our current plan, can we purchase extra services?

Absolutely. You can enhance a new plan or top up existing licensing plans with add-ons, including extra network infrastructure and storage capacity, increased support seats and services, plus extra API calls for Ibexa Personalization.

Do you offer integration services as part of your plans?

Ibexa DXP is built using an API-first approach, offering you a large amount of flexibility to integrate your DXP project with your other business systems and processes, such as CRM and marketing automation platforms, or ERP and supply chain management systems.

Whilst our technical team does not offer custom integration services, Ibexa has a global network of certified partners who are experts in delivering large-scale implementation and integration projects for Ibexa customers. Please contact us about finding a partner in your region.

How many installations of the software are included in our plan?

It depends. Subscription tiers pricing is starting from one installation included. One installation of Ibexa DXP can be used to manage projects for multiple brands and channels but it is sometime preferable to build and run different projects on different installations. Ibexa subscription plans can include one or several installations of the software, (deployed on one or more web servers). Contact our sales team for further details about getting a quote for a multi-installation subscription.

How long is an Ibexa DXP licensing term?

Ibexa DXP licensing is usually offered as a yearly subscription, with an initial three year commitment. After this, subscription reverts to a 12-month annual renewal. Our customers stay with us on average more than seven years. Contact a sales person if you want more information on the terms of our subscription.

How is a content object defined?

A content object is a single item, consisting of any type of content managed and stored in the Ibexa DXP content repository, like an image, article, folder, or other rich media file. Content objects contain associated data attributes, such as author, title, product description, etc. You’re able to create custom content types and define the different data attributes for that type.

A single content object can be used in multiple locations, e.g. the same image could be used in a blog, a marketing landing page, plus a product description in your e-commerce store, or a product listing in a product catalog. Content objects can have multiple language translations, which are counted as attributes of the original object, rather than new objects.

User objects are excluded from the count.

How are web servers counted?

For your deployment, a web server is counted as a single software process responsible for serving the pages rendered by Ibexa DXP; or delivering web services (such as REST or SOAP or others) via http protocols, through the Web or an internal network.

Web servers are identified by their network IP addresses, and only active web servers are counted as parted of your installation.

What resources do I need to manage the project?

Even if you have very common requirements, no two DXP projects are exactly the same. with each software implementation being aligned to your business needs and technology requirements.

You project team should include developers, designers, and content producers to help reach your goals for all your different teams. We always recommend to work with one of our certified business partners to ensure project success. Contact us for recommendations about implementation partners.

When I am an Ibexa Headless customer, can I upgrade to use Ibexa Experience or Ibexa Commerce

Absolutely, there is a simple upgrade path from Ibexa Headless to Ibexa Experience, or Ibexa Commerce as well a simple upgrade path from Ibexa Experience to Ibexa Commerce. Please contact us if you want support in that process.
